Old Mundulla Vineyard

Blaxland Wine Group Australian wine industry vineyard at sunset

This South Australian vineyard is located one kilometre from the village of Mundulla, 35 kilometres north east of Padthaway and 15 kilometres south east of Bordertown in South Australia, and is part of the Limestone Coast wine area that includes the famous Coonawarra region.

The area around Mundulla has been a rich and successful cereal and wool growing area since the 1880’s and with potatoes, lucerne and small seed crops that benefit from the underground water resources of the area. The Mundulla property has a large water right for irrigation of the vineyard and because of the specific location of the vineyard on the aquifer the water quality is better than surrounding properties.

The 267 hectare vineyard was established in 1999/2000 and is wholly planted to red varieties including shiraz, cabernet, merlot and petit verdot.
